If Halladay gets through the 8th, Papelbon comes in the 9th and it's lights out on shitsburgh.

No reason to wear Roy down when Papelbon has it covered.

Papelbon comes in and shuts the door.
I said it before and I'll say it again. The Phillies are going to run through the national league this year.
Awesome starting pitching backed by an elite closer.
If they have the lead after 7th and especially after the 8th, the game is basically going to be over.

Ryan Dempster hasn't allowed a hit since the first pitch. Is he ridiculous too?

I loved the game today, 8 shut-out innings and Pap comes in to save it!
The only thing that worries me, as seen today is run support. We faced the Pirates, which yes we've struggled at PNC park over the years, but this low run support cannot keep up against above .500 teams. We need Utley back at second, and hopefully Howard returns in June.
Wiggington looked great at first, especially the last out stretch he made, love the pick-up since day 1. Thome may play a couple times per week at first as well, great switch there to keep 1st base covered, while Howard rehabs!

Not in my opinion.
They struggled with their bullpen all season long, struggled with Brad Lidge as their closer, and struggled with their offense.
They won a lot of games last season but they weren't really dominant outside of their starting pitching.
This season they are a much more complete team.
Last season their starting pitching basically carried the team. As a result of that, their starters were overworked and were fatigued by the time the playoffs rolled around.
Both Lee and Halladay never in their career pitched as many innings as they did last season and that certainly took it's toll.
I don't see the same troubles that plagued them last season.
I expect them to be much more dominant.

Possibly.
More importantly, I would bet them to go further in the playoffs than they did last season.

Would be hard not to do. Let's face it, they might as well be -10000 to make the playoffs. But once the playoffs start, it's pretty much coin flip time. In that sense, they can't do worse than last year.

When i was a little kid i used to like the yankees too... Then i grew up.
Root for the teams in your area kid. But while you're at it, don't constantly spam the forum with your flyers garbage because you have got to be the most biased poster on this site.
