Euro books don't count. All USA facing books use the Vegas standard, which is exactly how wrongturn described.

I should also add that if a game is called after 9 innings and the score is, say, 5-5, under 10.5 is a WINNER, books do not adjust score to "normal conclusion".

When you absolutely need to bet on a game, regardless of pitchers. And you know you won't be around to re-bet on the game if the pitchers change. Hedging situations come to mind.

What happens when you bet in Vegas and get a ticket that says "Yankees +120"....100 to win 120, and the SP for one team changes.....making Yankees new line at -120

Yankees win, what do you cash your ticket for? Is your ticket still good?

              Yes. You win $83.33.

I'm pretty sure it gets adjust to the opening line of the new pitcher.
