as soon as I read they were allowed to do a random test because the press conference was in the same state the event was sanctioned in, I knew someone would get popped. The poster boy for anabolics getting nailed here is not a surprise, but what is surprising is the UFC being dumb enough to allow the press conference to be in the same state for this to even become a possibility to do the drug test on these guys. I really wanted to watch that fight too!

Dan Henderson seems like a classy guy, and he claims he was getting sick all the time and his levels were so low they were off the chart.

But he's also older and a father. I read an article recently saying that if you have kids your testosterone immediately drops by about 30%. And also he comes from Team Quest.

Chael Sonnen is a compulsive liar who just happens to come from Team Quest, and he's gone on record saying he had informed Kizer he was using TRT. When Kizer confronted Chael about that, Chael said it was actually his manager Matt Lindland who had informed Kizer, so he should have said "my manager" instead of "I." Matt Lindland had asked Kizer about TRT but never with reference to Chael. And Kizer said to Chael's face that was a ridiculous explanation. So you have Dan Henderson and Chael who just happen to have medical conditions needing TRT and happen to come from the same camp. Henderson isn't necessarily a saint, he's someone who beats up other people for a living and is affiliated with Chael.

Chael is an asset since he can potentially beat Anderson Silva, but Nate was cut for doing the same thing Chael did. Chael claims he had informed the authorities but hadn't. TRT is definitely a shady area. The reasons given by TRT users half the time is "I'm at a disadvantage because I'm 20 years older than a 25 yr old, and they have higher test than me."

I'm not against TRT per se if you could prove someone had an extreme condition, but fighters are all going to conveniently develop these conditions. I heard it's very easy to manipulate your natural testosterone levels by skipping sleep or something, and then getting a prescription.

The only sport that tests seriously is cycling - 60+ tests a year, half of them random out of competition. Other sports like tennis, soccer, baseball, nfl only make the barest token effort for PR purposes, they know they'll never catch anyone except by blind dumb luck.
