I don't feel like its been too long since he's been shown on tv, but he looks like he's gone down hill rapidly. He's always deteriorated each time we get to see him, but the jump he's made this time is staggering.
His face lost all emotion when Hanley showed up. Ali probably thinks Hanley is a punk.

It's pretty awful how they parade him out there.
It's like watching Weekend at Muhammad's.

He's the greatest but you're missing the point. 27 years of time that he could've entertained in the public eye. He was the best talker and it's gone, along with his dignity

When he fought Holmes in 1980 for 8 million dollars it destroyed his life. I was 9 years old and Ali didn't land a punch. Go to ESPN Classic and watch the documentary. He was the man. It kills me to see him like this but he wanted the cash and it put him over the edge.

African Americans were treated like dogs in the 60's and Ali wasn't going to fight a fight that didn't support him. Yes he did go with a lot of women but he settled down. I know who I'm talking about, a legend. The man was good to the people that were loyal to him and never said no to a kid for autographs. You do the research, friend.

Dr. Lieberman (probably the most knowledgeable man living regarding Parkinsons) says he doesn't believe Ali got Parkinson's because of repeated blows to the head because he doesn't have classic Dementia Pugilista like Jerry Quarry. He says Ali is coherent and his thought process is still intact, though the Parkinson's forces him to communicate more with gestures and actions instead of words.

C'mon Nash. part of Ali's game was to tire the opponent out and that meant defensive. Even though he was successful, he took a pounding. The Larry Holmes fight at age 38 was disgusting. He kept getting hit repeatedly and never hit back. Tell me that didn't affect his brain....

From a friend "I don't know if you caught the pre game ceremonies at the opening of the new ball park in Miami tonight, but if you didn't, please know that exploitation there reached a new low. They wheeled out Muhammad Ali on some kind of a mobile tractor/trailer, surrounded by his family and the Mayor of Miami, all waving to the cheering fans. Ali himself was an unrecognizable caricature of his former self, wracked by the disease that is killing him, hands shaking uncontrollably, his emaciated body slumped in his seat and unable to even hold a baseball, let alone throw out the first pitch. It made me want to retch. Their excuse was that Ali beat Liston to win the heavyweight title (as Cassius Clay) in Miami. What that has to do with baseball is beyond my ken. Why can't they let the poor guy die in peace, rather than seizing every opportunity to cash in by staging bizarre scenes like this. Disgusting."

Some people really would like to see Ali before he dies no matter how bad a shape he is in. Great story to tell your grand kids that you met the living legend.
