Go all in 4 times in a row. Think about this, what sounds better and easier: going 4-0 and making $30,000 or betting 20 dollars a game and MAYBE grinding a 300 dollar profit after a whole entire season.

1. If your not in the US, use Pinnacle -105 is better than any bonus
2. Track your picks on a spreadsheet. SBR offers one for free
3. Learn what sport(s) in which your strength lies
4. Don't bet when your high, bad things happen
5. Don't blindly tail a public team during the regular season (Miami Heat, New York Yankees, etc)
6. Sharps usually win the the regular season, squares in the playoffs
7. Start with 1% of BR for normal plays, up to 5% for strong plays
8. Don't blindly tail JJGold

It still cracks me up with all of this advice everyone is giving... I am 100% sure that all of you giving advice are down significantly from your gambling experience...
Kid take that 2 grand and grab a buddy and go on a kick ass vacation instead.. Once you start gambling, your life revokes around checking scores 24/7 and trying to pick winners...

If the kid wants to gamble, nothing you say will change his mind. might as well give him some solid advice like money management, no parlay, etc. When i was 16 and got my license, my friends and I would drive down to Tijuanna mexico to bet on sports. it was 1 hour of traffic getting into mexico and sometimes 2-3 hours getting home. but, we still went there just to bet $50-300. so, if he wants to gamble, let the kid live.Comment -
You haven't mentioned your level of seriousness. Success in any field is about paying the price. Most people aren't willing to do so. That's why they rot away in mediocrity. Your choice.
Sports betting is not much different from taking an engine apart, cleaning all the parts, and putting them back together better than before. The parts in this case are numbers. Once you like the roar of the engine, start betting; not before. If you're serious, take a class in statistics, and learn to program. This will make you sharper, and save you a lot of time down the road.
Don't become an action junkie. Focus on one thing, and one thing only, until you master it. Baseball is coming up, so your one thing could be baseball totals.

Enjoy it. Not everyone loses. Most people lose because of lack of discipline. It is not you against the book but you against yourself.
Focus on control. Set up your plays and know why your playing and for what, find value and if not pass.

I didn't claim to have beaten 5D for anything. I ditched them when they put me on delay and limited me to betting in peanuts. But I don't need them as I can bet with the genuinely best books on this planet.
