Great article.. I loved Deon Thomas but he played with no emotion kind of like Frank Williams...Love Jimmy "Put the shaft in" Collins.. He deserved the Illini job!

Here is an example of the kind of rosters Deon had to play with because of that scoundrel Bruce Pearl. I was a young guy and didn't think much of Lou Henson's coaching until he started coaxing wins out of the hot garbage he coached after probation.

Brooks Taylor may very well be the worst outside shooter to ever play guard in the Big 10.

I saw Bruce Pearl on campus several times... one time, he ran across the street in front of Thompson Bowling Arena as I was trying to pull into the parking garage... thought about speeding up but then quickly analyzed that would be a bad idea as I would have no proof I tried to stop.

His son is an even bigger tool than him, if that is possible... Steven Pearl... was in my group project for a finance course and he didn't do any of the work.
