Barack Obama’s own running mate, the one whose 25-plus years of legislative experience are supposed to offset the wetness behind Obama’s ears, said in effect that Obama lacks the judgment and maturity necessary to make executive decisions. “I’m Joe Biden, and I Didn’t Approve This Ad” reports,
CBS’ Katie Couric: “Are you disappointed with the tone of the campaign — the lipstick on the pig stuff and some of the ads? And you guys haven’t been completely guilt-free, making fun of John McCain’s inability to use a computer?”
Biden: “I thought that was terrible, by the way.”
Couric: “Why’d you do it then?”
Biden: “I didn’t know we did it, and if I’d had anything to do with it, we would have never done it.
Senator Biden is stating openly that his own running mate approved this campaign ad without consulting him and that, furthermore, the ad was terrible and that he would not have approved it. In other words, per Senator Biden, his own teammate blindsided and embarrassed him with an act of poor judgment. If Barack Obama lacks the judgment necessary to run a political campaign, how can he have the kind of judgment and maturity necessary to run a country?
Biden apparently realized that he said exactly that, because he then tries to excuse his running mate’s actions.
Couric: “Did Barack Obama approve that ad? He said he did, right?”
Biden: “I don’t think anything was intentional about that. They were trying to make another point.”
Right: Barack Obama approved the ad, but it wasn’t intentional. He wasn’t responsible, it was above his pay grade, he voted “present,” he was absent for the vote, he had no controlling authority, and the buck stops everywhere but his own desk. In contrast, every Naval officer knows he is responsible for EVERYTHING that happens on his watch.
