#5They should try to get Jimmy Johnson. Let him be the boss. He would leave broadcasting for that, IMO. Let him draft all those floridian players and build a dynasty.Comment -

Not just a TV guy. Won a national championship as a player and a coach. Won a super bowl as a coach. 1 of only 2 people to do that. Millian never had those kind of credentials. He was strictly a player. Jimmy Johnson knows how to draft and build a team.Comment -

Won over 50% of his games with the Dolphins and took them to the playoffs and won a game there as well. What have the Dolphins done since? He was the last good coach they had. If the Ford family gave him complete control and alot of money, he'd take it.Comment -

#15Why would he? He already makes millions working just an hour a week.
Dolphins went 11-5 the year after JJ resigned and won their division. Went 11-5 again the season after that.Comment -

They got those records with Johnson's players. Just like Switzer winning a Super bowl in Dallas with Johnsons players. But, regardless, you are probably right about him not leaving, but if I was the Ford family, I would go after him. At least give it a try, anyway.Comment -

#18Uh no it wasn't.
They lost quite a bit of players including Marino from the previous year. So with a new QB and a new coach they went 22-10 in the next two years, matching the playoff wins JJ had in 5 seasons.Comment -

Dagger, are really trying to tell me that Wannstedt is a better coach than Jimmy Johnson?Comment -

He was head coach in waiting under Johnson. How has Wannstedt faired when he hasn't had Jimmy Johnson to fall back on?
In Chicago he was 41-57
In Pittsburgh he has a reord of 16-19.Comment -

#24What does his records with other teams have to do with anything?
So I guess Bill Belichick owes all those SBs to Pete Carroll since he sucked as Browns coach and won with his players with the Patriots.
Dave was the better Dolphins coach. He brought in brand new players at QB & RB and won the division.Comment -

Sept. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Matt Millen has been fired as president of the Detroit Lions after seven years and a National Football League-worst 31-84 record, FOXSports.com reported.
Millen learned of the firing last night and was packing his office and telling employees this morning, the News Corp. unit reported without saying where it got the information. Lions spokesman Matt Barnhart didn't immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
The firing comes two days after Lions Vice Chairman William Clay Ford Jr. told reporters that Millen should leave his post. The Lions have the worst record in the 32-team league since Millen took over as president in 2001, and fans have staged protests against him and petitioned for his removal.I must complain the cards are ill shuffled till I have a good hand. ~Jonathan SwiftComment -
