I think you are reading too much into it... There are 10 low IQ basketball players on the court and most of them can drive to the rim so this should be expected.

Refs knew at the half that Baylor would not get back into it, so to compensate, call the touch fouls early and often in the half

I think the over was higher b/c a foul fest was expected. No one is taking outside shots so fouls should be expected. Especially from Baylor, they can't stay in front of Kentucky's play makers.
