It used to be sudden death OT on all NHL games. A shootout really isn't the way to decide a hard fought 60 minute battle between 2 pro teams.

#37And before that (83-84) there was no OT at all - just a tie. What about people who want to go back to ties? That's actually the "old school" way.Originally posted by lunchbawksIt used to be sudden death OT on all NHL games. How does having a shootout guarantee people leave at a set time? They've never played more than 5 min of reg season suddent death overtime anyway.Comment -

Good win. No way would i lay -160 on a penalty shootout type game> Congrats on the win Mike.

kept thinking all night that goal with less than a second left in the first was going to cost me a lot of money
finally snuck out a close win, it's been a lot of close losses lately on my bets

#41I would rather have two choices and lose a game on a shootout than have 3 and lose on a tie.
Seriously??? Shootouts make a game exciting. I have lost enough on shootouts and it was more aggravating watching teams lay down in OT satisfied with a tie.Comment -

Outcome has no bearing on the fact that LB & I were clearly on the right side. Another example of why we Pro.

Leave it to those San Fran pansies to let the fukkin Coyotes get a fukkin point. Of course those ladyboy Sharks can't possibly win in regulation, and basically cut the Yotes nuts off. That would be too masculine of an outcome for these San Jose girls.
Sons-of-bitches. This is yet another reason why I hate all things San Francisco.Comment -

#45opie i know this might be hard for you to understand, but san francisco and san jose are two totally different cities separated by over 40 miles
san jose's gay population is less than 1%, san jose COSTA RICA is a far more homosexual area
still clinging to the "on the right side" argument? phoenix didn't even get a shot off in overtime

in fact the sharks having wisconsin's pavelski and heatley (before heatley went to wild) is one of the reasons i like them so muchComment -

#53I think what lunchbawks was referring to was the inconsistencies adding to OT with the EXTRA POINT and SO... instead of getting NO POINTS ON A LOSS. The game was easier to CAP as a gambler. I've never made a profit in the NHL in 12 years. From a gambling perspective it took me away from the NHL. Hockey is in my blood... but I feel the vampire sucked it all out. Because I gamble almost everyday to make extra on the side. I have totally taken hockey away from my routine. Now, for the average person that has no money on the game... it's a fun sport to watch. But, if I'm not wagering NHL... I'm usually doing NBA... so I can't even watch the NHL games. But, you can just read body language on the ice... and it changes the mentality aspect of pinching, chipping, and doing unusual things on the ice with an extra 5 minutes on the board... because both teams have 1 point a piece. Now, you go for the extra point??Originally posted by muldoonAnd before that (83-84) there was no OT at all - just a tie. What about people who want to go back to ties? It is just plain ridiculous from a wagering standpoint. You can't cap the game... and while doing this... say to yourself... ahhhhh sh#$ now what if they both go into OT... who wants this extra point bad enough... and who doesn't care? It's impossible to cap... I'm sorry.

#60notice how bigday is so nice rooting for both teams? while me and opie try unsuccessfully to piss each other off, bigday roots for both.
who are you going to root for march 31st/april 3rd bigday? pick a side, and keep in mind the stars only have 2 home games left and they are against san jose and st louis.
stars won't be a significant favorite in any game other than at edmonton the rest of the way. sharks play dallas/la the last 4 games and should take the division by winning 3 of those 4Comment -

Sh!t. You've both met my spousal unit.
Im leaning sharks. I feel less threatened by Mike. Lord knows what was going on at the pool in Costa Rica while I was taking 5th place in the poker tourney. Opie probably paid the fukkers to fold to me so he could have some quality time with MmaChicka. Not going to happen this year pal. I'll have my eye on you.
Honestly, your division is coming down to a great battle. Great time of year for hockey. Unfortunately I just have U of Minny to cheer for. Frozen four in a couple weeks!!
