essentially your best shot is to risk it all on as few games as possible.

which would mean 3 bets first day for the max (.5 x .5 x .5) 1 in 8 chance, the odds of winning 2/3 and then going 2/2 to still be up 5k are 3/8 x 1/4 or 3/32 chance. there is still a slim chance of continuing to waver then hitting a couple late but that is pretty insignificant.

so the odds of being up 5k on 2k bets are a little higher than 4/32 + 3/32 or 7/32

you are right, the best chance of winning 5k is laying 100k on a -2000 but that would probably mean you don't need the 5k anyway

You can do it easily, Sam. Key will be to not get buried early - spread out the risk a bit on the first few bets, build up the bankroll. Then unload Sunday night and get to the 5K!

You can do it. If I was betting full units on my plays instead of 1/4 and 1/2 I'd have grinded out 5k the past few days. Not confident in hoops so I play it safe by decreasing unit size.
