Yeah the more I think about that game, the more it worries me because 8.5 seems too good to be true. Kansas had their scare against Purdue should come out inspired. I love NC State's size inside though.

This is good advice. I've been thinking of potential hedges and amounts at this point. Think I might lay $200 on both Baylor -6 and Kansas -8. Worst case I win nothing and lose nothing. Best case obviously both Xav and NcState come through. but if I lose both, $395 netgain on a $5 dollar bet.

But you're right that Kentucky ML that I'm so certain about can definitely bite me in the ass.
That scenario you presented: Both dogs covering and Kentucky losing outright would make me want to quit forever though haha

You are actually in a good spot. Leave Kentucky alone. Straight bet Baylor and Kansas $220 to win $200 each. If you split the pair, your out $25. If you win both you are up $395. If you lose both you are up over $1000.

Unless $700 (or whatever else you would end up with after hedging) is a life changing amount or the scalp bet is also "a good bet", I wouldn't hedge anything as you costing yourself money on the second bet...

Plus, ignoring the other issues with parlays like this, even as a recreational bettor when betting things at long odds in almost all cases it is pretty silly to put yourself in a position where you later feel the need to scalp out when you actually finally have a chance at a decent score... There are a few instances where you could justify hedging out on a secondary -EV bet on something similar to this to maximize your expectation but this isn't one of them...
