Some please tell me what I could of done different at this table.
Ok so no bad beat stories please, just give me a idea of what I did wrong on these two hands. I am playing 1-2 Nl at the local dog track and poker room here. I have around 600 on the table. I get AA. We have one guy is has been pretty loose all day and winning and up around 750. I am on the button. I raise 20. I get called called raised 40 and then he raises to 100. I go all in for 600. Fold fold the first raiser folds 99. he flips over 710 offsuit(really) the flop comes A63 then a 8 then a 9. to give him a 6-10 straight. Only one 9 was left too. Ok so now i tilt some but work my way back a few hours later to four hundred and some change. I get 5s5D on the button again. I raised 18 and get 3 callers and he is one. The flop comes 9s 5H KH I check, he raised 40 and the next guy folds and i reraise to 240. He goes all in and i call the other 120 in my stack. he flips over 2h2D the next card is AH 8H to give him a 2 high flush. Did i do something wrong here or should i just quit?

You had your money in with the best of it, and he drew out on you twice. It's not like he had a straight or flush draw on the flop and you just made him pay for it either, he backdoored you on both occasions, so really no, there's nothing you could have done differently in my estimation.

Neither, unless you are on tilt and no longer are +ev. And there is no reason to tilt.

        Hi,

Your play seems fine, this is what we call a bad beat period. Good luck, and no, don't stop, continue to try and play even better.

The other guy had a horseshoe up his ass.

He was probably sweating when he saw those aces.

How in gods name can you think you did anything wrong? Pre flop all your money in best hand? Anytime you can get a guy like that put his money in like that, you cant complain! You should play at any table he sits at if he really plays that bad!

If you play poker you are going to have days where no matter what you do you are destined to go broke, this is the nature of the game. I was on vacation in San Diego couple years ago and had bought in with 200 and ran it up to 500 and was feeling good (partially b/c we had a real lunatic at our table). Anyway I get q-8 in the BB and check, flop comes q87 and I check, the lunatic (like he had everytime) overbets the small pot (think pot had 15 bucks in it) and he bets 50, everyone folds and it comes back to me and I raise a 100, he calls, turn comes a 2, I go all in for 350, he immediately calls me (he only had 280 left so I pull back 70) and he flips over j10 offsuit (no flush draw) and the dealer slaps down a 9 right on cue and he rakes down the 890 dollar pot and I'm sittin there with 70 bucks, go all in two hands later with pocket Kings, get called by 7's and he catches a set and busts me. Some days in poker there's just nothing you can do. I have just one question was this real cards or "computer" poker, b/c we have a dogtrack/poker room near where I live that I am almost sure is rigged as the "computer" poker always has 2 guys win huge (4/5 hands) and everyone else at the table go broke, doesn't matter what you do they backdoor you or flop the Ace high flush when you flop the King high etc. everytime.

sounds like the guy is a real donk. i agree with gm2022, play at this guy's table with every opportunity. he'll go broke way more often than he wins, playing like that.

i think you played the AA hand to perfection, isolating your hand against only one other player, the loosest player at that.

I don't think I would've raised that much with the fives. I know you were on the button, which makes it a better play, but generally you want to see cheap flops with low pairs. If you knew there were going to be 3 callers you probably wouldn't have raised pre-flop, as any high card on the flop would likely hit one of them. But the two of you probably would've gotten it all in after the flop, so it may not have mattered. You were just unfortunate to hit a set and lose against a guy who would call with anything.

Just call it a day, and try again another time.
