The SB loss for New England in February marked, IMO, the turn of the worm as far as best conference.
It seems clear that the best teams are now in the National Conference. And, in fact, in one divison of that conf.
It is of course only a snapshot after Week 3, but the pattern is already clear.
Patriots, even before Brady injury, were not the team of old. Defense declining due to desertions and age. And points are not as easy to put up.
Indy lost twice so far. They'll rebound, but maybe not as good as their glory years.
Same for the Chargers, two tough losses. Should win tonite, but Merriman-less D and a surprisingly bad secondary leaves them out of the real elite.
THREE BEST: DALLAS - PHILADELPHIA - GIANTS
Despite Philly having lost narrowly at Dallas, I'd rank them second. G-Men barely got by a bad Cincy team
Eagles played without top RB Westbrook most of the game against VG Steeler team. They should be there all the way ---- if of course McNabb keeps in one piece
