I've never really bet on individual hockey games. Dumb question for those who do: how do you know which goalie is starting? Is this listed somewhere? Can you bet on it the same as starting pitchers in baseball, where you can take action or only with a particular goaltender? Or is this even something to worry about?

Goalies aren't "listed" the way pitchers are, usually teams have a number 1 goaltender that starts the majority of games, when teams play back to back games (two nights in a row) you'll often find both goaltender playing one game each.

You cannot bet action for a specific goalie starting.

Usually, teams start their backup goalie against "weaker" teams, this is not 100% certain, but generally speaking it is true.

I believe LT has a link that showed starting goalies on gameday.

One of the advantages of being in Canada is the nonstop hockey info available on radio, TV, internet and newspaper, hockey coverage is 24/7 here in Toronto once the season starts, even in the summer there is lots of hockey news.

Thanks betplom. Just afraid of getting what seems like a good number on a game, then finding out later that their crappy backup was starting and that's why the odds were so good. I guess once you get into it you get a feel for it and just have to be careful of that.

Goalies aren't "listed" the way pitchers are

They may not be Listed in the sportsbook like a pitching Matchup, but theyre listed Every day for sure! We know whos in net when the games starts, unless an Injury or a coach wants to play games? The starting goalies are listed at about 16 sites

Hockeyinformer.com is another decent site, although last year i wasnt thrilled with him, guy normally does ok

But I know i dont make a bet unless i Know for a fact whos between the pipes

Anyway, i also cant wait for the new season, ive gotten to see 7 pre season games so far, so im trying to see what shape the teams are taking, As How I CAP?

I see the season as a story!

Each team has a story to tell about how their season is going , in the recent past, in the NOW, and how it will go forward!
So i try to see the story before it unfolds so we can get paid knowing how the start, middle and ending are revealing themselves!

I can sum this thread up very easy, are there guys that know hockey?? Of course and do hold their own but no one makes a living off it. Boys no one would work if a guy gave out picks and you just bet them but more importantly if a guy does really well he ain't giving his picks out because he just bets himself and would be rich.

Anyone charging for picks is a 200% fraud because if they were so good they would be just betting their own plays.
