I like Yankee Stadium; have always had a good time going to games there over the past 40+ seasons. And the one game that will always stick out among those I had the privilege to see there was in mid-July 1988link to boxscore. Oldtimers Game before the regular contest, and after years of seeing Jose Cruz Sr. play in Houston, it was a thrill to see him hit a pinch slam that turned out to be his final major league hit.

As far as the Yankees not being in the playoffs, I wouldn't count on not hearing about them not being in the playoffs over and over during the telecasts, Illusion. Start practicing on the MUTE button is my advise.

shouldn't the yankees be good if they always have the largest payroll and absolutely no home grown talent to speak of in the last ten seasons....thats why I like the expansion Marlins and Rays....arms and prospects for days...jeter in his prime can't touch what hanley ramirez will be...hes good enough for standing at the top step waving a towel..then going back to his penthouse and having threesomes with transexuals because hes such a playboy

i concur...despite the fact the old yanks teams had way more likeable characteristics than the modern teams for this franchise...except giambi who i've always liked
