#4wow incredible bad hop. In the slow mo replay you see his glove is down at ankle height at first, and then it came up 3 feet to his face

#7X-rays are just as a precaution. He didn't look like he was in pain and the cut was well below his eye so it shouldn't be anything seriousComment -

#11Damn. That's a bad hop, but Christ, he can't even protect himself over there. No reason he couldn't have at least brought his hands up....that's a shame.Comment -

#12When I use to play at 3rd for some games, this was my only fear. While my playing time, I got to see my teammate playing at Short and a ball took a bad hop and struck him in the eye. Knock him out cold. Next day, he had this huge bruised black eye. Lucky for me nothing ever happen to me while playing in the hot corner. I did get struck in the chin while playing at 2nd base, my everyday position.

#13I played college baseball for 4 years and of course every year of my life before that. Mainly 1B, though every 4-5 games I slid over to 3B. I NEVER felt comfortable there in my entire life. Every day when I knew I'd be playing there, I'd be sick to my stomach. It's a hellish place to play a game.Comment -

#14Jesus Christ, I didn't read the majority of this thread, but to you twats who think any third base-man in the league aren't catching that in the face are full of shit.
I've played all over the field, and the hot corner is crazy. SS is more difficult, because you gotta be smarter - but 3rd is about as bad as it gets if you aren't ready to play the position.
Like I said, there isn't a 3rd baseman in the league who plays that bounce clean. Miggy will be fine.Comment -

#16Never seen a third baseman get eaten up like that. He should be used to fielding similar grounders at first.Comment -

#18Wrong, wrong, and more wrong. That doesn't happen to chipper jones at 40 years old and much slower reflexes.Originally posted by ChalkyDogJesus Christ, I didn't read the majority of this thread, but to you twats who think any third base-man in the league aren't catching that in the face are full of shit.

#20You're right. Chipper is busy acting like a Diva after losing the ball in the lights during a wildcard race, and blaming it on the stadium he has played in every year for 18 years.Originally posted by seaborneqWrong, wrong, and more wrong. #23That wasn't even a bad hop... maybe he lost it in the sun... or wait it was a fukkin grounder.
Nice to see he is still fat, enjoy your $20+ million dollar DHComment
