Long Island VS Michigan State - The Total Is The Key...

First thing I noticed was a high total. If the oddsmakers believe this total should be so high (152o/u)... this could only mean one thing... Michigan State huge blow out. Maybe they might win by 30+ who knows? Izzo won't let his team play carelessly in the opening game... there's no way. He always preaches defense. So why is the total so high? Well it's pretty obvious... Michigan State should have a sizable lead in this game. Maybe a 90-60 final? Maybe I don't know much about Long Island? But I will say this... Izzo will not run and gun in any game in this tournament. The only way this game gets a high total is from Michigan State causing Long Island turnovers leading to fast break chances...

Michigan State -19.5 should be pretty solid.

LIU is 3rd in the country in scoring and put 85 on UNC in last years tourney, I think they get about 75

Exactly. Though Mich St might romp, it's no way a lock simply because there was a high total set.

yeah and NM State shot 100 more free throws than any team in the country...until they played Indiana last night...they got shut down...total is scary here.

LIU's two leading scorers are undersized big men it will depend if they can hold their own I think LIU might score ok because Mich St. does not have much shot blocking.
