His legal advice was horrible. We tried to nicely tell him he would never get a penny from SBR. He seems to think he can sue a company located outside the US because a poster posted a pick on SBR's forum. I can't imagine what convinced him to think that was a good idea. Now he gets to explain to the court why he shouldn't have to pay SBR's legal expenses. Pretty crappy job capping lawsuits.

I mean, he probably can sue SBR in a US Federal court. Whether or not his case has merit is a completely different issue, but its pretty easy to make the argument that SBR has enough contact with the US to subject it to suit in the country. SBR's contacts with consumers in the US are both systematic and continuous. Hell, they even have points redemption only redeemable by US consumers. I really don't think SBR could win saying that it couldn't be sued in the US. Now whether or not any assets of SBRs were be able to be gotten to is another question, and in that respect, SBR is probably judgment proof.

Good thing for them you didn't hire Feustel & Associates...guy charges $500/hour. Does good work but is expensive. I imagine your lawyer probably put in at least 40 hours responding to all this garbage...that $20,000 dollars! (293,333 SBRs)

My response was that he probably can sue a company located outside the US in this case but whether or not he could prevail on the merits is more of a question.
