Most have unreadable or illogical write-ups. Some are downright unreadable.
Some don't bother with write ups. Just post their picks... which really makes it hard to agree or disagree with them.
Some (I hope I am included on this list) offer clear and articulate insight on plays, which win or lose is a valuable thing to have, if for nothing else to get a fresh outlook on games.
Then you have the ultimate. Someone who has good write-ups AND actually has a proven winning record. Whats not to love?
I'd NEVER blindly follow someone, but if I had a strong lean and then signed on and saw that pags had the same lean, I'd be pretty happy with that pick.Comment -

#15I'm sick of this guy Pags. He acts like he's god's gift to college football, if someone says something bad about him he gets bend out of shape. Write ups are worthless to me, picking winners is what counts. Brandon Lang has nice write ups but what good are they if he can't pick his nose.Comment -

#17Pags is a capper in every sense of the term. Like everyone, he has bad days - and he has good days. He gives you the best information I see on these boards - in fact, I don't know of anyone who consistently gives good information other than him (the NFL forums stink in that regard - and that's where I spend most of my time) - you know, the kind of information that sets off alarms before making a bet. His information has been invaluable at learning how to cap college football - and to a degree that has helped me in the NFL, which is my bread+butter. When I say information - it's not so much the picks, it's the susbstance in his thoughts ona game - I don't care if I'm on the other side of one of his picks, the perspective is good for not only that week - but later weeks.
I dunno, I come from the poker mentality for success that I hold with betting - at the end of the year if you're up, you had a good year. Pags has a good year every year... I dunno, if you don't like his confidence or him talking about his record - then don't pay attention. He doesn't flaunt it unless he has to. That's respectable. You have to have that if you want to be good - you can't let some tosser on the internet take that away, although so many seem to try.Comment -

#23Last year Pags invited me out to his place to study college football with him. He put me up in his place and took care me for the time I was out there. I've been around scholars, academics, and some of the most intelligent people in this country, and yet I've never seen anyone work so hard at watching tape, taking notes, evaluating talent, judging in-game coaching, keeping up with injuries and linemovement throughout the week. By the time my I left his place, I realized on the flight home that I had been privy to a greatness that so few us will ever experience in life. It was his genius as a college football handicapper that had shown me that you have to work hard at anything to be good at it.
You ask the guy for his NFL picks, he'll tell you no thanks, I don't bet NFL. MLB picks? He'll tell he will lose in the long run despite the fact that he was a professional baseball player. Ask him about NCAAB, he'll tell you just for fun. Ask him NCAAF, well, he knows college football like the Pope knows the Lord's prayer.
It's truly remarkable that we are blessed to have such a knowledgable, dynamic, and polite individual who despite his greatness as a college football capper, treats us all as equals on here despite the fact that he knows 9 out of every 10 guys who view the NCAAF forum is a long-term loser. We are lucky to have him here day in and day out.
My advice to the moron who started this thread is to A) apologize and B) stop posting at SBR.Comment -

I am not comfortable revaling too much about what he did and where he played, but I can assure he was a professional athlete and remains in tremendous shape. Guy can easily bench press 500 pounds.Comment -
