Ohio State winning the Big Ten Future bet question
I bet Ohio State to win the Big Ten Championship. I risk $330 to win $300 there was a 3 way tie. They said it was dead heat rule and I ended up losing $120 on the bet. Is this normal for grading futures? I figured I would win 1/3 of the bet. I am just wondering if this is how every sports book would grade this.

Yes, you should have won 1/3 your bet, so you should be up $100, not down.

The way they graded it was the dead heat rule. They broke it down into 3 plays. I won 1 bet and lost 2.

Well got a few different answers. Did anyone else bet this? How did their book grade it?

This isn't a debate. LOL The dead heat rule works exactly as you described in post #3. You lost a few bucks because the team you took was odds on, meaning you would have even lost on a two-way tie (-$15). In a three-way dead heat, your play has to be +200 to break even.

Thanks for your help. I read the rules and understand how they graded it. I was wondering if this was how all books graded this type of wager, or if some book graded it other ways.
