The Lakers would catapault themselves into the Thunder/Miami/Bulls conversation - probably higher due to the pedigree of the franchise.

Lowry is one helluva PG, and Scola is exactly what they need to compliment Bynum.... Add Barnes and Artest platoon on James, and the heat have no chance.

the rockets GM is one of the best in the business. he finds real value in players. that is why they can't get below .500 to get a good draft pick. he is too good for a team that needs to tank.

You must be new to basketball, because that statement is 100% wrong. The inverse is true. Only thing Gasol is better than Scola at is a polished offensive game. Scola is a hustle player.

Gasol is a garbage defender. Sorry - the guy is as soft as Amar'e on D.

Hustle is half the game on D, especially when boarding. Does anyone play basketball anymore? Seriously, rebounding is at least 90% hustle/determination.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take Gasol every day and twice on Sunday over Scola. But throw in one of the most efficient players in the game, at the most important position in the game currently, and it's not even close. If this trade happens, Rockets lose.

scola is 6'8, chalky. Gasol will always be a better rebounder because of his size. Scola's rebounding is down to something like 6 a game this year.

Scola is scrappy, but do you watch him? He's not a good defender at all. Not saying pau is either.

Would still be a great land for the lakers because kyle Lowry is a top 6 point guard. No clue why Houston would even consider this.
