MWC ships in different floor to Thomas & Mack for Tourney.
Teams have always complained about the MWC tourney being played at the Thomas & Mack, that it was a home court advantage for UNLV.

So the MWC rented the floor that was used in the Carrier Classic earlier this season, so it could be a neutral "floor" for UNLV as well.

Waste of money, or good idea?

I think it is a waste of money.

They could have used that money to make the MTN network a decent program.

      Agreed.

I'm surprised the Tourney games are in HD. The regular season games aren't.

It is an advantage for UNLV to play at home but shipping in a different floor is such a waste of money. I know coaches have complained that the tournament is @ the Thomas & Mack Center but where else are you going to have the tournament? Laramie? Fort Collins? Vegas is great for postseason hoops and the arena is by far the best in the MWC. I hope the MW tournament stays there for years to come. Notice that both the WCC and WAC play @ The Orleans Arena and next year the Pac-12 is having their conference tournament @ the MGM garden.

Where to have the tourney? In the fukkin MGM, like the PAC 12 is slated to do next season... For christ sake, there is basically a Madison Square Garden 5 steps up the same goddamn road, and you use the home gym of a team within the conference?

Nice Arena, I get that - but holy fukkin christ these people are dense.

Thank god the PAC tournament is now outta staples starting next season, and in the MGM Garden.

Don't you dare cry a river for the Showgirls.
UNLV is the only team in the country that gets a home court advantage, every year in the NCAA conference tourney.

They have the space in San Diego.
I think we all know that.

We definitely have the space in Albuquerque.
This city has been built to take on a million visitors for one week in October for the International Balloon Fiesta. We can definitely handle one weekend of college hoops.

CSU has Denver's Pepsi Center, they got space.

Air Force has enough space in Colorado Springs.

I can't speak for Laramie and Boise.
I've only heard that Laramie doesn't have the facilities to host that many teams and fans.

It's starting to get a little old and we're a little tired of the showgirls hosting the tourney, all the damn time.

              I know the other side:
Vegas is a nice tourist town, their is shit to do.
Denver couldn't give away tickets when they hosted the NCAA a few years back.

But their is hit to do in San Diego and Albuquerque so that's why we say bring the conference out here.

They moved it to Pepsi Center for a few years, it didn't work out well and moved it back to Las Vegas.

I could see if UNLV won it every year, but they don't, and it looks like the only ones crying a river are the other teams and their fans.

I hate tournaments that play in the same venue every year besides the Big East tournament. That one obviously needs to stay there.

But the Big 10 tournament always plays in Indianapolis? Why? Indianapolis is a shit hole. It should at least rotate around to Chicago and a few other venues I wouldn't mind as well.

They keep it at the same venue because it makes money and there is nothing wrong with that. All the locations you named are not destination spots. Albuquerque...really come on. Vegas is great and the $ and attendance figures prove that. If it is not broke, don't fix it

As far as the MWC they can have it at the Thomas & Mack or lose money in having it at the MGM Garden. That is real dense

The Big 10 tournament has been held at the United Center
