Yankee fan catches a homerun in back to back games...
Same fan, caught Giambi's homerun 2 nights ago, and Damon's last night. Same dance too after catching them.

How about catching two in one game...and that game is a playoff game that sends your team into the next round? LINK

Why would such a story inspire you to start such a thread about it? Life must be very lonely and or miserable to even think about something like this for more than 2 seconds, let alone start a thread about it. Did you think maybe the guy who caught the ball posts here? Hey maybe he can autograph one of those balls for you!!!!
Stop wasting bandwith.....

I thought it was an interesting topic, tsoprano, certainly reminded me of a similar incident in sports. Don't let the hater get to you. It's the haters who can only go around poohpoohing on others that must lead the sad miserable lives.
Keep wasting the bandwith; if nothing else, you give folks like BuddyBear something to do on a day like this.

Took a matter of seconds to post that. Life must be miserable for you to give the time of day and explain why it is such a bad topic. If you dont like the topic, dont post in the thread. Simple. You must get a hard on by breaking people's balls.
This is a sports forum, and that happened at a baseball game.

And your point is?
Lot of things happen at baseball games. Just because it happened at a baseball game does not mean it needs a thread. We don't need to hear about all of the things that happened at a baseball game. Point is there are other relevant threads that get bumped down because worthless ones like this are created.
You'll understand one day.

Yeah, but it isn't quite as cool when it's an Astro's fan. Hell most of the sections were probably empty and it allowed the fan a running start anytime a ball was whisked toward his direction.

Assuming 40,000 people were in a position to catch a fly-ball on both nights, this parlay would have been worth 1600,000,000-1

actually you bumped it up yourself. The whole thread is pointless and stupid. If something like this excites someone enough to develop a thread about it, i feel very very sorry for them.

Exactly. And he almost didn't have it. Was half off the railing as he just reeled it in.

only if one foul ball gets hit per game.

Very true. Assuming there are 25 fly balls per-game it would be 40,000 divided by 25 x 2 right?

Seems like you must have an awfully miserable life:
I'd probably most likely chose Pags to jack off too.

I think you'd have to square the 25.... 25 X25= 625... so divide the 1.6 trillion by 625, I think 25 is low, though.

ok, 40 x 40 = 1600. The answer should be 1.6 Trillion divided by 1600.
Answer: 2,560,000-1

Where you are sitting would matter, too. If you are in the outfield between the foul poles... no fouls... right behind home plate ( screen blocks them). little chance in a 3rd deck seat, or under a balcony.

Tacomax, you always know how to put people in their place. VERY nicely done. I don't know who this buddy bear character is, but it sounds to me as if he needs to stick to the handicapping forum where all of the "smart" people post about "smart" topics.

He makes an ass of himself in there as well (post #23 onwards).
