I heard ref Ed Hachules ''spelling''was getting alot of death threats sent by e-mail and phone this week for blowing the Broncos-Chargers fumble call that allowed the Broncos to win.I suppose they sent them to the law firm he works at considering it's damn near impossible to communicate eletronically with anyone these days person to person in entertainment or sports.
So,has anyone here ever been so upset with a player, ref or coach that fu$#ed up a play and game so bad it caused you to lose a bet you should have won?
I knew a few high school coaches and before caller ID in small towns they would get annonymous threats over the phone that their dog would be killed because of bad games and such.
A long time NFL ref named Bernie Kukar that head reffed a couple super bowls grew up on my block 20 years before I did and he now lives in the boonies because he's a bit paranoid of the retaliation and revenge stuff. He blew a call a few years ago on a muffed punt in a Green Bay-Atlanta playoff game in Lambeau that screwed the Packers and Green Bay is the kind of town where snitch paper mill employees get thrown in paper making vats by other union blue collar employees.Dan Devine that coached there had a dog killed over a bad game.
