Bush Shows His True Colors: SOCIALIST RED !
Had us all fooled that he was a "conservative."

And a true "less government, lower taxes" guy.

Another humongous lie, just like the whoppers that got us stuck onto the Iraqi tarpaper.

Classic capitalism says let errors in the marketplace be punished. Let the fools fall, and the prudent and farseeing rewarded.

Socialists want to interfere with the relentless logic of the marketplace, and reverse this truism.

But now we see Bush and his appointees doing the Socialist Shuffle, bailing out private businesses with OUR money.

Because "they're too big to fail." If that's so, nationalize them. If the people, the taxpayers, are to be the guarantors of last resort, let us OWN these companies.

They are all basically run by technicians anyway, specialists.

We can pay a CEO a fat salary with a terrif retirement. But no Golden Parachutes, etc

In a crises, Bush again showed his true colors, just as he did with Iraq: an imperialist socialist, true heir to the old expansionist Soviets of the Stalin and immediate post-Stalin era.

He's a socialist. Not surpising. Just about al the ideological neocons cut their political teets as Trotskyite Marxists.

They money for these bailouts (more probably on the way) is not primarily going to come from taxes: you can't get blood from a stone.

They will come from reducing the living standards of almost all
Americans through the medium of INFLATION. The deadiests of all kinds of taxation.

The Fed simply created money out of thin air. That's where all those billions are coming from.

And with more dollars chasing the same or fewer products and services, the prices rise.

It's no accident that the gold price took a fantastic jump skyward today. In times of inflation wise investors seek to protect their assests with the oldent and most reliable medium of exchange.

Thanks to that great Socialist, GW Bush.

I always get a laugh out of the "conservatives" and Bush suipporters, including on this board, bemoaning "socialism" and holding GW up as a grand conservative protector of the talented, the thrify, the wise.

            Yeah, my ass!

From the fake Free Trade agreentents (written by lobbyists) to these corporate bailout (the Big 3 auto companies are going to be comng soon with their Begging Bowls), what we have in America is pretty much FREE ENTERPRISE FOR THE UNDERCLASSES, SOCIALISM FOR THE SUPER-RICH.

This recent display is just another example.

The classic capitialist stance is that the naked marketplace is the last and best arbiter of who is to survive and prosper, who to fail.

So this mega trillion corporation, IMG, all over th globe, made a huge error, even with all the Yale and Harvard geniuses peopling their reseach and accounting depts.

But, probably they didn't. They jumped feet first into the profitable (at that time) subprime market - most likely with the idea firmly stuck in the back of thier heads that if it all turned to sh1t the goverment (ie US, with our inflated paper money) would step in with the bailing buckets.

            And they were right. Absolutely.

            Joke's on us.

The funniest part of all this to people in the UK is your government now pay Manchester United 80% of $24M per-year to have the AIG name on the front of their shirts. Incredible.

If the Dems can't capture the White House in November with all the incredible garbage that's come down in the last eight years, they should dissolve their party and hang it up.

Not that I think that a mere change of party will solve much. More symbolic than anything. Obama is as much a mindless warhawk in Afghanistan as Bush - he too wants to foray into unstable Pakistan.

The weird mountains of that land (not really a "nation" as we know it) are a maze, a trap.

2300 years ago Alexander lost his way there, even after the ploy of taking an Afghani bride.

In 19th century the Brits also got their comeuppance in that tribalistic landmass.

And 30 years ago bin Laden and his mujahideen helped destroy the Soviet Union there. (They also installed a puppet president - a guy like Madonna with one name: Najibullah.)

But, of course, we're different. NOT!

Since, as an American sucker, I now "own" a slice of AIG, if I can get free tickets to some matches, would you buy them at a 50% discount?

Or maybe I can put them on the UK's ebay?

Wow, great idea! Going to email my congressman right now for some tickets.

                    come on hook,

nobody in their right mind believes that American Capitalism has anything to do with "free markets". I think they tried for a day maybe 200 years ago and saw that no one could survive. You can't run a country on that shit. Fantasy, propaganda.
Furthermore, Bush is no more a Socialist than I am a Martian.
Although there is truth to this statement:
FREE ENTERPRISE FOR THE UNDERCLASSES, SOCIALISM FOR THE SUPER-RICH."

They simply take public money and distribute it to the rich, just like you say. The rich are protected. Its no accident that they want "socialism" for themselves. But its hard to call these actions socialistic in the common use of the word.

                      correct.
Democratic health care plan. Force everyone to buy insurance. Who's the 1st beneficiary? --insurance co.

They might have to subsidize with public funds because many can't afford.--- transfer of funds to the rich --ins co

How about writing a law:" Access to health care is a human right. No one can be denied treatment."
I'm sure poor little countries with sanctions levied against them for caring about their own public can do this. Certainly the US can afford it.
Who benefits? people. so no ****ing way. -----

If no business interest stands to benefit its not gonna happen.

We need someone to stand up and say that there needs to be a balanced budget, create a law that forces this. Start phasing out unsustainable programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, and let's completely forget about this Universal Healthcare pipe-dream, the current programs we have are unsustainable let alone healthcare for the whole country. As these programs are being phased out, use the extra revenue to pay off the debts, and when those debts are paid, cut taxes to give all the extra money back to the people. Let's never bail out a private company again, and let companies fail. At the current pace, at some point the country is going to collapse financially, and we will be screwed. So let's start to change now, and maybe it won't hurt so hard.
