shumper is indeed nasty, but the problem with the knicks is whats gonna happen to shumpert. melo was a hungry beast his first yr in the league, first few yrs, but eventually over time talented guys in the nba settle into this lazy, perimeter based, "too cool to drive" im a shooter watch how easy i make it look style of play. the nba is a physical league, i understand wanting to just hang around and shoot, shit rashard lewis got nearly 20 mill a yr for doing that cause orl thought he would never get his shot blocked. but it kills offensive flow, and eventually you turn into the portland trailblazers, a bunch of overpaid 6'7-6'10 guys who can all shoot from anywhere but forget how to do everything else and you wind up as a ho hum 5-6 seed that does nothing. i believe nyk has a few players that fall into this. melo, amare, jr smith, and davis. novak is a shooter, he belongs out there. the other four have a lot of talent, and still have some heart, but they've spent so much time hoisting up bad shots i dont know if they remember how to accomplish baskets efficiently without volume shooting.
