I like it a lot. The creator, Matthew Weiner, is one of the original guys behind the Sopranos. Even though there are big obvious differences in premise, you can see the stylistic similarities.

When I'm watching it, I'm well aware that it wouldn't be for everyone. It's almost like a piece of literature the way they develop characters and patiently develop plots. I'm sure lots of people would find it boring.

But for me it is great. It's the best. It builds up to these moments of impact that can leave me with my jaw dropped in amazement. It's a very different kind of TV show.

If there is any way you can start at the beginning rather than joining in mid-stream, that's what I would recommend. It is a serial in the truest sense of the word. Every scene has so much built up mood and background behind it.

Maybe it would be alright, joining in mid-stream. But it would definitely be better to start at the beginning.

The set designs and the look of the series is fantastic.Like steepping into an Eisenhower 1950s type film.

Its unreal how hot the women look in those girdles and the curves on those women with that 1950s housewife look. The way everybody is smoking and having martinis and the women are real supportive of the men and their careers,a very different time indeed.

It really is like stepping back in time, great show.

My wife loves it, but I've never seen it more than just passing through the room on my way to fix another drink while she's viewing it. Not really into the soap opera drama crapola; get enough of that from the message board here
