On this game the market moved a point towards Kent St. I really have no idea what a cbb side limit is at the luxor, but whoever is claiming $500 is probably wrong. Maybe their limits on totals is $500, but I can't see it being $500 on a side. I'm pretty sure that will be the lowest limit in the whole city.

Luxor published limits are 500 on sides and 300 on totals for CBB. I am not surprised they made an exception to this measley limit but was surprised they would do it to ten times their max because having measley limits like that makes the the brick and mortar equivalent of BetIslands. But, if they are trying to avoid large action and their books were not balanced, it would make sense to take an exception.

If you get down any big amounts in vegas books, you will be asked for your id, players card. This is completely standard. I don't know why you guys are thinking different here. You think any book will take random 5k bets from a guy just like that? They monitor the people who bet any amount that is 3k or higher usually, not 5k.

The only reason why they took his bet for 5000 dollars for sides is because either he hasn't bet there much or is not up that much lifetime even if he was up. If he was down lifetime, obviously they welcome any bets from him but the have to profile the people getting down bigger amounts. Are you not aware of runners? Every vegas casino will ask for players card if you bet 5k on a game. Many people use fake identities aka alias because many have been limited at that book and that book don't want any action from those particular players.

You will also have books that refuse a player if they want to get down like 15k on something like NFL Total since most of the big vegas books don't allow wagers of more than 5k on a total. Lets say a game a guy wanted to get down 15k on Pittsburgh/Tennessee game Under 39. Some book managers will negotiate and say they will take 10k on it but the other 5k, they only let you bet the extra 5k at Under 38 or so.

I can laugh at this thread now that I ended up money on the trip. Fukk the Mac. Kent state choked the game just as badly to Akron on Saturday, only difference is that Akron isn't mentally challenged like Ohio and capitalized on all of the turnovers.

And as for why Luxor took this bet, they probably had too much money on kent state so it didn't hurt them to take it. I'm definitely up lifetime at the Luxor but probably down a little bit at Mandalay. Have never lost a bet at MGM but have only made 5 or so.

Then again, aren't all those books joined together essentially? I spent a couple days at tropicana, like their layout and they don't hassle me a much when I make a big bet. No need to have a manager come over and stare me down, just type it into thei computer and wait for it to be approved.
