True, but you would think they would've learned from the criticism they got over that signing.

Yea it's mind blowing that both Werth and Zimmerman were signed both by the same team. The contracts are 5 times as bad when you consider theyre from the same team.

The Nats are trying at least....but think of what could have been had with that money.

Zimmerman is the face of the franchise.

            He is worth every penny.

            Werth was ridiculous.

It was a below market deal for sure. Zimmerman is far better than werth and has a much better track record

Zimmerman is something like 15th in WAR in all of baseball the past 4 years doing it in the least amount of games of any of the top 15

Teach your sons how to play baseball. And if they show no potential, groom them to be relievers for the Padres

Baseball salaries so inflated, strange how they do not go bankrupt

81 home dates can overcome throwing away 100 million plus dollars on average players.

16 mil a year, i guess is around the value for him. a-ram got paid 13 mil for 3 years from the brewers, both have about similar offensive production.

Solid Deal for the Nats, this deal I assume means they are convinced that injuries from last year are not going to affect him going forward.

The deal runs after his current expires so he's inked for the next 8 years at 126m, or 15.75m/year. and seeing how it will run though his prime years (27-34) and he's one of the best defensive 3rd basemen out there its a good move by the Nats,

not going to win their division, have to win the wild card, they are probably a .500 team. not a contender yet.
