Who is your favorite Athlete of all time? And why?
This is not a thread about who is the best athlete of all time. This is a thread about who is YOUR favorite athlete of all time... and why.

For me it is Fedor Emelianenko and here's why... First off MMA is my favorite sport and Fedor is one of the greatest MMA fighters that has ever lived. Even as an undersized Heavyweight he was the baddest man on the planet for nearly a decade. But what I really like about him is his demeanor. He's almost the exact opposite of many athletes... especially fighters. He's soft spoken and humble and almost always has something positive to say about his opponents before and after the fight.

So.... who's your favorite athlete of all time and why? I would prefer no arguing in this thread. If someone says Anna Kournikova because she's hot then so be it.

Earl Campbell. The man gave so much to the Oilers in such a small time. He's the majority of the reason "Luv Ya Blue" existed.

      Impossible for me to answer.

Greg Jones (FSU RB/JAX FB), Tiger Woods (he was just the fukkin man, gotta respect it), MJ (ditto) are three that come to mind.

Jon Jones is one of my current favorite athletes. I like him for many of the same reasons why I like Fedor.

On a serious note, Andrew Golota, even though he was such a let down. Went to 3 of his fights and the atmosphere was amazing.

My favorite athlete to watch, hands down was Mike Tyson. I was a young kid when he fought, but I would get fired up for weeks in anticipation.

Muhammad Ali---he's the champ and always will be----A great warrior and was always trying to please the fans. This man fought harder and was tougher than any dude that I've ever seen.

Dan Marino--all Italians love Dan the Man

Christian Laettner-- I never saw a caucasian that lacked skills in college dominate a predominantly african-american sport while being cocky, stylish, and cool like Laettner. He would dunk in Shaq's face and let out a scream. He was great and African Americans had to respect him.

Magic, Bird, Ewing, Jeter--I like players that back their shit up

                                          Troy Aikman.

Won 3 Super Bowls as QB of America's Team. There simply is no way of topping that.

                                          I win.

I'm a die-hard Angels fan so hopefully this answer changes to Albert Pujols , but for real, Cael Sanderson and Dan Gable. Both reached the pinnacle of their sport and still maintained a level head, unbelievable work ethic, and a solid set of values. Just let their wrestling speak for itself. Hard to say for most athletes nowadays.

A couple of things here... first off... I never said that he was the best ever. I said "he's one of the greatest". Read my entire post again before you start running your mouth. Secondly... if Fedor doesn't at least make your top 20 list then you have watched less than 100 MMA fights or have been watching MMA for less than 5 years... probably both. Btw... I'm not the only one that thinks Fedor is one of the greatest MMA fighters that has ever lived.

Scottie pippen bulls years only. I thought he was tough and underrated. After he left for Houston I saw him as a fraud with no heart. I still YouTube some of his great bulls moments today. He was that good.
