#4The earlist point in my career that I've hit this figure personally in any given year was in 1997..........around July 15th.
Had a great run in the 2nd half of the NBA season that year and was having a very good year with slots/video poker.
If I could sweep the board this weekend on my top 5 plays moneywise(HIGHLY UNLIKELY), will top the mark for 2008.

#5By the way gang, know some of you just met me, so don't get the impression that I win month in and month out on all gambling activities.
I've had BRUTAL runs in the past.........with sportsbetting, slots, and video poker.
The worst run ever may have occurred in 1999 when a small group of us video poker pros were on a great overlay ............everyone of the 10 or so pros won, and some very big............i lost $31,000!!
WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARES!

Personally, I am not as inclined to share that kind of info on a public forum.

I've stated for YEARS on many forums, the IRS is no concern of me, as I have paid all my taxes truthfully on my gambling during my entire lifetime.
I report all my winnings on LINE 21 and deduct my losses on Schedule A.................
Keep IMMACULATE records of all my gaming activity in a detailed diary............something I recommend everyone do.
By paying taxes, I can than peacefully invest my winnings in other things......(real estate, art, etc., etc.).

#11Originally posted by JRS21386Do you list your occupation as professional gambler?
Have found it better and easier to not do so.
Have income from a few other sources, so that offers me the oppurtunity to list that as my main occupation.
Filing as a PROFESSIONAL has it's disadvantages and advantages............and one can do either if they are a successful gambler.Comment -

#13[QUOTE=JRS21386;1033743]Nice... Have you ever read the book Smart Money by Michael Konik?[/QUOTE
Yes, just finished reading it a couple months ago.
Was not overly impressed.
Having lived in Vegas for 20 years and working directly with supreme wiseguys on BOTH sides of the counter, it didn't really inspire me all that much.Comment -

Lol well what i was gonna ask is whether or not there are syndicates like that in Vegas that make a very nice living off of doing what they did in that book
I actually did some work(runner) for a syndicate for a couple of weeks in the early 90's.......but quickly decided I was better served doing my own thing.
Understand, the key to beating this game is getting good numbers.........way more than actually handicapping.
It really is a "numbers game".Comment -

I'm here to entertain and educate........at my age, don't need pats on the back.
In fact, I try to avoid media attention........especially on the three major tv networks.Comment -
