Anyone Have Family on Texas Coast?
Lived between Houston and Galveston most of my life ... road out a few hurricanes. Still have a lot of family and friends south of Houston, including a couple of hard-headed redneck in-laws that refuse to leave the old homestead ... didn't even bother boarding up the windows

Anyone else with family down that way? Are they staying to ride the Ike wave?

That's rough, hopefully it's just a bad storm and people can stay inside without having their property damaged.

When they get their houses leveled from the 20 ft storm surge and the 120 mph winds they will involuntarily evacuate either dead or alive.

JJ ... I don't manage that project. So, in the meantime, I'll worry about my family.

                  thanks Ace

You are welcome. I am only trying to help save some lives. It's not bravery to ride out a storm. It's stupidity and disrespect to human life. There is no building code designed to save people's lives from hurricane force winds and two story tall storm surge. I know this because it is my job.

My best wishes goes out to those that stayed ... and hopefully next time understand the importance of leaving their house ... material things can always be replaced, yet not a soul.

There are some jobs that require their people to stay around.

Unless if ur in the Red Cross, or within the many different police services offered ... I wouldnt see a Warehouse employee staying because his boss told him to.

You're right Nina ... apparently Dancing Bears of Galveston, Inc. has required all employees to remain on the island. Either that, or LSD use remains alive and well in South Texas.
