First off, I've been really impressed with the new QB, Ricky Stanzi.............although he has played against nobody(Maine and Fla International), I really like the way the kid moves and he has a strong arm with a nice touch. I think he can become a real good one down the road. He has already proven himself enough to knock last years starter to 2nd string, Jake Christenson.

Iowa may have the best set of recievers they have ever had in my lifetime(48 years)........WHEN HEALTHY. With wideouts Bordell and Stross, coupled with TE Moeaki..........this is a very talented group. Moeaki, who is one of the best TE's in the country, missed the Hawks first two games but is ready to go now. Stross is still out.

With the emergence of Stanzi at Qb, this team may be a little better than I had anticipated before the season, where I saw them going 6-6 or 7-5. At this time, I would slightly upgrade that to 7-5 or 8-4.

We will know much more about this team in the coming two weeks, hosting interstate rival Iowa State and then traveling to Pitt to take on the Panthers.

It would be sad if they didn't beat Pitt.

Even if they defeat ISU by 20 this week, they will be favored by no more than 10 at PITT................

            Iowa could get to 4-0

Rivalry games though are usually close

This is by far the easiest schedule for Iowa in recent memory.......

              MAINE
              FLA INTERNATIONAL
              IOWA STATE
              PITT..........non-conference foes.

No Ohio State or Michigan on the schedule.
