Check, Cash it or Deposit it in N Y

Well that pretty much says it all. I'm about to recieve a check under 1k for first time, yeah i know small potatoes, but better than no check at all. Should I try a cashing place, or deposit it in bank. Any risks involved? I know its been asked before but old threads. Thanks for your replys

Well first of all it is RECEIVE!!!!!


Just deposit it at your bank. Dont EVER use a check cashing place and lose a %. Just use your own bank. ANYTHING under 5k wont even raise an eyebrow

Outside of the fee for using a check cashing service is the problem that infrequently the account that sent the check gets shut down and the check bounces... Alot easier to deal with this if it is deposited in your own account...

Just deposit it into your bank account. 1k is nothing to the governemnt, you won't have any problems at all
