I will be the first to admit that my capping abilities need work and are a work-in-progress. This is only my second season capping college football (didn't even pay attention to anything happening outside of the Pac-10 or Top 10 before a year or two ago), so I'm not expecting 55% winners overnight or anything. I disagree with you on the 9 games thing; with 56 games that is 56 spreads and 56 over/unders to analyze (not including halves, quarters, etc)... Liking 9 out of 112 plays I don't think is too crazy. But maybe I will learn the hard way that it is! Besides I do have "tiers" and there are certain plays I like better then others, but for the sake of keeping the videos relatively simple, I just put them all out there. Don't have a strong opinion at all, need to see more games from both these teams... I'd take Rutgers -6 though if I had to take a side. Great home team certainly doesn't want to fall to 0 - 2... Already explained why I didn't take AU, Cal was tempting and I had it circled, but just liked these other plays better. You could very easily cash both of these, I'm just taking a wait and see approach for most of the Pac-10 to start the year. GL though!

you 2, I know im on a lot of Road Fav this week, which most if not all would downgrade me for. I just think Maryland is just as good as WSU(if not worse). Only thing I see happening is maybe a slow start for Cal with it being a 9am start PT. Though when its all said in done they cover! AU i have been on 2 weeks str so maybe im not looking at this game correctly but either way I think Au wins by 21 pts as there D is way underrated and will be a key part of them staying in games in the PAC 10 this year. Might as well parlay/tease it with the UNDER. Just saw this was at 59.5.
North Texas doesn't have a chance to put up much more then 10, do they? As such, if the final is 10 - 49, you have a cover and an under. Likely will be even lower.

the only problem I see with ur picks is ur obsession with chalk. Take a team catching some points here and there. Dont be afraid to be an underdog. You seem to not be afraid of starting the game down 14,16,26-0 why not do have some more games like the N Texas one. LOL, 100% kidding. Guilty as charged, I do love the chalk. But I have to disagree with you that this is a bad thing; whether you have the points or are giving the points, both sides are -110. There is no more value either way, the only value is being right. If you pick 8 dogs with the points $100 a game and go 6 - 2 and I pick 8 faves giving up the points $100 a game, we both profit the exact same amount.
Some people are good at picking live dogs. I personally do better at finding favorites that WILL cover the spread they are up against. Especially early in the year... in a few weeks favorites will start giving up too many points and I will start finding/picking more live dogs. But no need to force it!

Great videos and great newsletter dave.You are really making an effort at this and I hope more people check out the newsletter.Its great seeing young people using all these tools available and really making an effort to do seomthing crative.
When I was your age we were mainly doing punk fanzines and some literature fanzines with mimeograph and tons of time spent at kinkos.laot of people had that d.i.y. ethic but the tools were not as available
Its a shame more people don't do all the stuff you are doing,great to see this effort.
Personally I really hope this sbrwill get more like pokerroad and get more original content and get some radio and tv shows up here.

Yeah, I've heard the guy is amazing... have you seen his setup?? He has like 7 flat screen wall mounted TVs and he watches every game start to finish... pretty damn awesome.
I'm trying to be as versatile as possible; newsletter, blogging, videos, podcasting... and I have a cool domain name to keep it all together. Hope all this effort pays off in one way or another someday

Just the same mike thats on my head when I do the videos... AUDACITY is a great free program for recording that lets you record and edit mp3s and what not. Then just upload it on a podcast server and you are good to go. If you haven't already, take a listen at my page to some of my podcasts and see what you think.
