well rogie, your the 1st person to ever ask me this question.. very shocking.. you'd figure since i keep bugging eveyrone that tries to quit, that someone would finally ask me..

here is the answer

in my 23 yrs of gambling, i have been serious about quitting and took serious measures to go through it, about 12 times..GA... take summer off.. dont look at lines. etc.. but never succeeded..

but how many times i have said that i am not going to bet anymore OR .. i say Please GOD, let me win this miraculous game, and i swear i will never bet again, OR when i have a bad night i say, that's it, i am done.. OR i say, if i win this amount this week, i will quit.. stuff like this, i say about 22 times a month. or over 6,000 times in my life, no joke.. but now, i have given up on saying this cause i have accepted now that i will nver be able to quit this addiction, so i dont waste my time anymore.. it is now a part of my life that i have accepted.

actually, i can say tht i still say almost everyday that i am not going to bet tomrrow, but when tomrorow arrives, and it's near game time, i always bet..

i was a bookie in high school, and college.. i was giving out parlay cards and making my own lines etc.. i gave 7-1 odds on 4 teamers.. and ties you lose in NFL and my lines were all -3, -7, -10, and -14.. so if they won 3 out of 4 and tied last game, instead of winning a 3 teamer, they'd lose.
i made a ton, but lost a lot of friends. i was the most hated guy in school, cause all i did was collect. it wasn't big money.. 5 bucks here, 10 bucks there.. but back then, 10 bucks was 10 bucks..

ive had gambling as part of my life forever. it's in my blood now.. just like many here, i am sure.

i just went on a very very very bad run.. never seen anything like it.. i am sure if you ask any gambler, they will all tell you that when you lose.. sometimes it drags on and on and on for a long time.. that's what happened to me.

but i have made back a bit and my bad slump is temporary over.. i have been on fire the last 3 weeks in bases, but the NFL just kills me.. i went 2-13 in NFL this past week

NFL is tough to beat. for me at least. if i never bet NFL this year or last year, i'd be retired living in a nice house like rogie's by the pool.

yes, i do have advice for you.... if you bet only favs, you will get killed. if you bet ONLY dogs, you will go broke..

you MUST pick and choose your spots. but the real advice is to only bet off lines.. if OLY has -175/+155 and you have a book that is offering the dog at +170, then take dog.. if OLY has -175/+155 and you find a fav price at -158, then take fav.. just play weak lines, no matter if it's dog or fav..

JUST BEAT THE CLOSING LINE.. AND YOU WILL CLEAN UP..

Don't just bet dogs blindly, you will never win..
