microsoft might not have been the best example
not to mention that every major sports league has their own channel that real fans go to and they seem to be doing fine (though i personally couldn't care less about the nhl or its network)Comment -

#60Story blown out of proportion. An athlete making it to the top (without having won anything yet). Not that unusual, but US media acting like it's a miracle. Great for NY, but why would anybody else really care? Rubio in Minnesota is probably just as good as Lin.Comment -

#65Jeremy Lin has made New Yorkers forget about the Super Bowl less than two weeks after it happened; MSG stock was selling at $32.32 earlier this week, its 52-week high, despite the company losing $10M a month because of a dispute with Time Warner Cable. Sales on the Knicks’ online store are up 3,000% over this time last month; the most amazing thing about that is that they had any traffic at all at this time last month.
Lin is on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week, the first Knick on SI’s cover since Marcus Camby in 1999Comment -

#66As much as ESPN sucks nards for ruining a story as much as a radio station ruins a good song or a movie theatre hammers a trailer to death, it is actually also awesome when you want to see highlights or just hear interviews or whatever. Mind you I don't watch it 24/7 any more so I'm not getting the constant barrage like you guys would get. Just visiting their site and picking and choosing the clips you want is awesome, which I know is a much different story for those in the US when this is your main sports channel.Originally posted by faceespn actually ruins the feeling of the undiscovered underdog, BY SHOVING HIM DOWN OUR THROATS EVERY F'KIN NIGHT. i like lin, but espn is being very cheesy.
Coochy is right - Lin is huge down here now. Not surprising considering our Asian population and where we're located but this guy is much bigger than Tebow ever was or even could be in the Southern Hemisphere. And when Nike's sales were already up 18% in China in 2011 and their goal is to boost them to $4 billion a year by 2015 (this goal was pre Lin and now his special shoe), you can bet he's only going to blow up even more down here.Comment -

#67JJ, the kid is Dolan's dream come true.Originally posted by jjgoldI think the Knicks behind the scenes would love to get rid of him
Dolan is one of the cheapest mofo's on the planet, he makes rookie minimum, he's the hottest selling jersey right now, and he puts butts in the seats.
Dolan isn't running him out of town anytime soon, unless some team blows him out of the water with a trade he can't refuse.Comment -

#68I'm pretty sure he meant Carmelo but yeah, Lin's not going anywhere. I was telling JJ that watching the replay over and over of him hitting that 3 in Toronto, you would've sworn that game was at MSG the way everyone cheered. It's like they didn't even care that their team blew the lead. That's pretty crazy.Originally posted by stevenashJJ, the kid is Dolan's dream come true.

Speaking of ESPN, who is this woman in the pink dress? Look how many times she's nodded her head 90 seconds in. Does she speak?!

Reminds me of World Cup time. Everyone's a "Canadian" until it starts. Then they're from Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Germany etc. (wouldn't matter if they played a Canadian team) With large pockets of most nationalities someone's celebrating every night.
I imagine the sale of Lin jersey's would do quite well here.
