If he had a real GM in the 80's around him then this guy would of won more rings then Jordan. In 86 he had a superstar in Ralph Sampson around him and knocked of the Lakers to make it to the finals. Then in 87 after Sampson got hurt the "League" said Lew Lloyed and Mitchell Wiggins failed a drug test and suspended them for two year. If Olajuwon would of had a decent player around him he could of won at least 10 titles. Then in 94 he won a championship with nothing but role players. In 95 he got another star in Drexler and easily won the championship. Greatest player ever!

#12One of the most underrated for sure. When people bring up the top five centers of all time , he's rarely , if ever mentioned. Imho He's the 3rd best after Big Bill and KAJ. He's one of the best defensive players ever , in an era when playing defense actually meant something. He was a leader , had a versatile all around game , just a great player. Greatest of all time , no way. I have him somewhere around 8-10. Which hey , if your top ten all time , out of everyone who's ever played. Your bad man. Besides 45 , I'm not sure is rather build around another player from that era.Comment -

and you think olaj is best ever because he won his championships in the 2 years jordan took off that he sandwiched on both sides with 3 straight titles (mj clearly had big time stars to help up and down his roster though, right)Comment -

jordans prime, his best years. his numbers werent as good his first 2 years in the league and tailed off slightly and then dramatically after 98.
took out 94-95 as it was just a 17 game season for mj. olaj clearly superior throughout that 4 year stretch. obviousComment -

#30Obviously this thread is nothing more than to riled up the Jordan backers. Anyone who seen the two play, would know the differences. Hakeem was just a tall guy that took advantage of other tall guys that couldn't guard him like the young Shaq, similar to what Yao Ming did to everyone. He was nothing special.Comment -

#31Hakeem would be my number 1 center for a team that I was making. The guy did it all; great team player. Probably the best defense center to play the game, but he could also shoot 15 footers with no problem. He is a Duncan with even better defense...scary!Originally posted by oldscho0ledMJ said if he had to pick a center, he would choose HakeemComment -

#35Jordan was more dominant at his position but Hakeem was the better player because if you give them both the same supporting cast Hakeem will win more because it is a big mans game and he was 8 times more valuable on defenseComment
