Question about golf, does it cost money to enter a tourney like poker tourney?

Theres a purse in the golf tourney and payouts are like poker tourneys.. BUt do these pros wager money to play in the pga tournaments etc..l.?????????

i think theres a small entry fee for some events, i could be wrong though. at any rate its nothing compared to the prize pool, it would be like a 100 dollar poker tourney adding a milliion bucks

Back in the day (pre Tiger) entry fees escalated by the size of the purse. For instance, $60.00-100.00 per hundred thousand of purse. Eventually, they settled on a flat $125 no matter what the purse is.

Now days, Most pros tip the locker room attendent more that that for the week.....
