Its not socially acceptable, and I am not sure why. My lieutenant when I was in the Army was Asian and I used to give him shit all the time. I used to ask him to dress up as short round and i would be Indiana Jones for Halloween. He would always pretend to get really excited whenever we needed to do some kind of math. It was all in good fun. People need to loosen up I think. I have taken my fair share of Italian jokes.
