Buddy Bear and Sham - Still Believe Obama Wins by a Landslide?
New ABC poll, taken since Sarah dragged the Down's Syndrome baby in front of the cameras, shows the race now dead even.

GOP ticket got a huge switch from Obama to McCain. Or I should say from Obama to Palin. She apparently is the fuel that's firing the McCain surge. And most of those switching are white women.

You both were looking at the mere facts - the never-ending wars, the ecomony looking more and more like the Great Depression, all that.

And the selection of a lightly experienced "Rapture" religious nut - she is totally nuts in her theology - should have given Obama a lead of 75-25.

Very rational. But you both negleted to factor in one singular aspect of the denizens of this land.

As the famous early 20th century Baltimore and New York journalist, HL Mencken said: NO ONE EVER LOST MONEY UNDERESTIMATING THE INTELLIGENCE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Combine the votes of the "soccer moms" who think with their cervixes, with those of the millions of avid readers of the "Left Behind" series of Rapture fantasy novels -- and you have the perfect recipe for a disaster for America that will make the Iraq war looks like a hilarious celebration by comparison.

The warmongering McCain and the Armageddon Rapture broad - yeah, we'll all get our Rapture. Sailing through the air on a mushroom cloud.

The Dems will have to take the gloves off in dealing with Xena.

Make a commercial showing her telling her church that God wanted the US in Iraq.

Take choice pieces of the Jews for Jesus guy who spoke at her church, probably when she was present, and told the congregation that Israelis were terror targets becuuase they won't convert to Christianity.

The white women who just let loose with their mothering horrmones and switched to Palin/McCain must be frightened into switching back.

That can only be done by showing Palin to be a whack job. With her own words, or that of her pastor.

(unfortunately, they seem to be getting bad advice, not going after Mrs Palin in a direct way, on this crackpot issue. Note that the GOP had no hesitation about attacking Obama via the Rev Wright. Where is the Democratic Karl Rove?)

There will never be another landslide Presidential election again in this country. The politicians have us right where they want us, divided and weak.

Didn't Clinton in '96 win by something of a landslide? (Which I think means 58%)

Clinton didn't get 50% of the vote in either election

he did win easily in 1996 though 47% to 40

Notice I said "again". The Clinton presidency gave rise to some of the biggest fractures in bipartisan politics. The impeachment hearings greatly contributed to the division of the public and helped create the partisan environment of spite we now find ourselves in. Bush added fuel to the fire.

And while I'm strongly opposed to Xena's relegious/political views I think it disgraceful that stories are circulating that after she killed the moose she made it in the woods with a couple of caribou hunters.

Who later boasted at the lodge that they'd bagged a doe. And then let her go.

Nasty rumors. How low can you get?

No. They went after him purely for political power. Things were going far too well during his Presidency. They needed scandal to regain the White House.

Yep, I still think Obama wins rather easily. Most political science models have Obama winning in a landslide. Unfortunately, there are a lot of racist people in this country, but if Obama was white and said the same exact things he wold win easily.
