I am in the same boat. Last weekend I wagers a lot less on each bet. I did so good, I couldn't believe it. I started to bet my normal wagers today and lost lost lost. It has been this way for years. The smaller I bet I win, the more I bet I lose. It is guaranteed for me. It sucks!

the tendency is to let the money control our emotions. the smaller the bet, the more we follow our instincts which are based on knowledge of the sport, teams, players, etc.

when we raise the amount of the bets, the natural tendency is to tighten up and not play what our instincts tell us, we get nervous so we question ourselves

its very common, has plagued me for yrs and yrs

I don't really think it's that hoops b/c I dont decide to bet big and then pick the game, I see a game that stands out as a great bet and then bet big. Most of my big losses over the last couple days have been in seeing the 1st half go one way and thinking wow great opportunity for an over halftime bet they are just scoring a TD every drive and then a complete switch the 2nd half with the defenses taking over or vice versa with QBs going from garbage to great as in the UCLA/TN game halftime bet. There's just been so many crap plays that I don't even want to get into it but when I bet big and the other team is 3rd and long it's picked up everytime, when my teams 3rd and 1 on the 3 yrd line their getting sacked for a 5 yrd loss and FG team on when I'm down 5 points. Just not my week I guess, but it's been like that for me for awhile when I pull out the big bet I almost always lose and small bets the games go kind of as planned routine no special surprises, my team picks up the 3rd and 1s they stop the 3rd and 11s and all goes well for the bet. Don't ask me why but this whole week that's been the way of it, build a bankroll with small bets then bet big and get killed, chase with another big bet and get killed, just a nightmare.

I just suck all around...just got off of a brutal 10 game losing streak that featured 4 baseball games where I had the under just to have a multi-run HR in the 9th or later destroy it. Already down 2.66 units in the NFL and trying to add another to that total as well.

based on what you said here^^, it's not bad luck, it's poor money management. find a number some where between your small bets and your large bets, then just play the same flat amount on every game for a while. control yourself and don't chase, just keep grinding it out week after week, and you may not make money, but you won't lose much either. if you can get that to work for ya, then go back to changing your unit size based on your edge. but never base your bet size on the result of your last bet, that's how most guys bury themselves. good luck man.

Truth is I guess I've got poor money management, I crank out 2 or 3 50 dollar winners in a row then I see what looks like a great bet and say fuk it I'll bet 200 and really make today pay, I lose then now suddenly I'm down for the day even though I've picked 3 out of 4 winners so I'm like fuk it I'm still picking winners today so I'll toss another big bet to get back up and end up losing that one, now I'm 3-2 on the day but instead of bein up my wallets gotten hammered, just very frustrating when that happens. I think as another poster said the trick maybe to just keep the same unit size throughout regardless of whether you're up or down and trying to make a little profit, if you're a successful capper you'll make a profit, if you're not or you have some bad luck you won't be hurt too bad. Just fukin takin huge hits to my bankroll ruins the day for me and makes no sense, I don't really need to make huge increases, I just would like to gamble and have some entertainment and turning a little profit at the end of the year would be great too

Anyone here have the same deal, my wallet's been fukin brutalized this week, I win all my small bets and get assraped on all my big ones, just fukin awful this past week. I think the gambling gods are pissed at me and fukin bait me with these 50 dollar wins by 20 pts and then slam me when I pull out 2-3 hundred bets. ive done it for years .bet small,and win.bet big,and lose.this will beat every thing you have ever done.wright 5 games down on a piece of paper,and have second thoughts about a game.then you mark it off,and the game wins.it never fails.

wager 1% on every play, if you really like a game go up to 1.5%

If you find a play that has a edge greater than 3 times the edge of a normal play let me know. If a play has no edge dont wager
