I think its only a few days before US drones start bombing, and Seal Team 6 moves in (if they arent already there).

Dictators are all the same. They never come willingly, and you have to take them out by force.

The only problem is that Syria is backed by Iran, and Im pretty sure Iranian troops are fighting against the Syrian people.

Drones would be shot down by Russian anti-aircraft misiles. The Russians Navy is anchored in the Syrian port of Tartus.

The biggest reason the Americans will not start bombing is this: The American army stationed in Afghanistan had been receiving it's supplies through two main routes, one through Pakistan and the other Russia. The Pak route has been closed for close to two months, the other one through Russia will also be closed if the US starts bombing.

Russia and China vetoed the resolution because they know the US is hell bent on regime change. The USA tries to pull another stupid stunt Russia will be there to stop them cold. Russia has stated numerous times that if USA does anything to Syria or Iran they will fuk them up real good. We all know that the US only likes to go to war against tomato cans and they all ready back down to Russia a short while ago. Russia invaded Georgia and the US tried to bring humanitarian aid to the country. Russia rolled their nukes to the border and said they would target all US assets and the USA back down. Our corporate whore media will never reveal this though even though its a stone cold fact.

Iran has deployed 15,000 troops to help Syria's Assad

Prominent Syrian lawmaker says the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard's elite Quds Force has recently arrived in the country to help manage Assad's regime brutal suppression of a 11-month-long popular unrest.

Emily, I disagree with you on a great number of things, but you got the information on this exactly right. We will have to go through Russia if we want to prop up another phony dictator, or foment change to install Al Qaeda or the Muslim Brotherhood.

I say, stay the hell out of it. The middle east has been run by dictators for 1,000's
of years. When they have a democratic society, the elected officials still act like
                        dictators.

The only reason why we're in the area is to protect OUR interests, OIL.

Syria's backed by China and Russia. Obama will do nothing about the slaughter of Syrian civilians. Obama will ask for more sanctions.

usa is not going to get involved in this one. its not like libya where all the cities are spread out, and there is not a huge population. if we started bombing we would have a lot of civilian deaths.

There is little/no prospect of the US/western countries getting involved militarily.

Assad is a lunatic just as his father was but the opposition is splintered and disorganised. There will likely be more sanctions but there will always be buyers for oil (Syria is not a huge producer) and China is desperate for mineral sources so these will not be too effective.
