"Matt Cassell is our qb the rest of the year" - patriot player
this is what trent dilfer of espn just said he was told by an unnamed patriots player
needless to say, this injury to brady sounds very, very serious

Sad news? It isn't like he got shot during a robbery and died. You really are a skirt, Another Load.

i think it crosses a bit of a line when we either wish for and/or are happy when a player gets seriously injured and is out for an extended time if not the whole season
i think the NFL is a considerably weaker product without mr. brady as the pats qb

Ok see this is where we get confused. I didn't say I'm happy or wish TB got hurt. What I said was this. They play football. There is a risk of getting hurt. He got hurt. I'm not sad. I'm not happy. It is football. People get hurt. Tom Brady got hurt. It is the game.
For the people who are "sad"Tom Brady got hurt, please call mommy and cry. You could get a pass if you bet a large sum of cash on the Patriots over win total or the Patriots to win the AFC East, AFC, and the Superbowl. If you fall into this category then I would be sad as well.

Not all fans follow sports the same way. Some people choose to get really into it and emotionally invest themselves. Some people care about the teams, the players, and the quality of the games.

Pink is part of my last name, Pinkos, hence the name.
I do like to root against the Pats. I am a Jets fan. I don't like it that he got hurt. When I think of sad, I think of Sean Taylor. Not a player getting hurt playing a game that he gets paid millions to play. Do you think it is sad? When I worked at UPS in 1997 I hurt my back abnd couldn't work for a 2 weeks. Would you feel sad for me?

this is an excellent post.
following sports is not all about betting. some ppl truly follow it as an escape from the daily grind, and watching the best compete is what makes them happy.
for instance, i dont bet tennis seriously because i make money in other ways, like the stock market. hence, seeing nadal lose to murray hurt because a) he's my fave player, and b) i want to see the best in the world play, which wouldve been fed and nadal tomorrow afternoon
its okay to be bummed because a great player, a first ballot hall of famer, has gone down to injury. maybe sad isnt the right word, maybe "bummed" or disappointed is better.
i cant stand kobe bryant, but i do wana see the guy play because he brings an excitement and skill to the game that few other nba players can bring, just an example

I agree. Fanatics. The guy who said he feels sad for him later said he hates the Pats. Ok.

Thanks! Maybe I am just a bit rough around the edges, but I spoke my point. To each there own.
Federer vs Rafa would have been sweet. I like Murray, not to win the final though.

Gus Polidor [po-le-DOR], born Gustavo Adolfo Polidor González (October 26, 1961 - April 28, 1995), was a shortstop in Major League Baseball who played for the California Angels (1985-88), Milwaukee Brewers (1989-90) and Florida Marlins (1993). He was born in Caracas, Venezuela.
His best year was 1987 with the Angels, when he hit for a .263 batting average, with 2 homers and 15 RBI in 137 at bats. After dropping off to .148 in 1988 he was traded to the Brewers. Polidor played in a career-high 79 games in 1989 and was later a member of the Marlins in their 1993 inaugural season.
In his major league career, Polidor batted .207, with 2 home runs, 35 runs batted in, 33 runs scored, 15 doubles and 3 stolen bases.
After a brief comeback attempt as a replacement player with the Montreal Expos in spring training of 1995, Polidor was murdered in Caracas by two men who were trying to steal his car. He was 33 years old
I got his autograph in 92/93/94 (forget exactly what year) hen he was with AAA of Montreal, Indy Indians. I have a 88 Topps card signed. Nice guy.

Chris Sims is coming in tomorrow for a physical and a workout. No way they throw the season away because they lose Brady.
