Like I said before there are no sure bets but this one has to be one to look at. Jets have flat out destroyed Miami since 2001. The only thing Dolphins have going for them is the public is on the Jets. Dolphins haven't covered a game against the Jets in years, even playing in their own back yard, why would it start today? Like stated before Dolphins didn't help themselves much getting Pennington, who i really like, but his arm with the 2 shoulder surgery's have made him an average quarterback. Not too mention they got rid of their best defensive player.

The Dolphins' D line is definitely a worry, but I am thinking that the Dolphins' defense has received some excellent scouting reports ... from Pennington. That can't hurt.

Trends are lame in this era. Teams and personnel change so often that they become pretty irrelevant. Yeah, there is the "we never beat this team!" factor sometimes, but considering Parcells has reinvented this team, I doubt that it factors in much.

Its easy to remember the Dolphins sucked last year, but the Jets only had 4 wins last year... 2 - 12 against teams other then the Dolphins! It isn't like the Jets were that great last year. Of the Dolphins 15 losses, a remarkable SIX were by 3 points! You think a healthy Ronnie Brown + a QB that isn't totally incompetent won't turn a few of those games into wins?
