I've never understood when that is happening why a linebacker is not instructed to go make a helmut to helmut hit on first down against the QB or better yet to run to the sideline and nail the opposing coach.

But seriously, if you are up 20 and there is 30 seconds left and you are in the shotgun, if I am the opposing defense, your QB is not getting up after first down even if I have to hit him 5 seconds late.
