Hoop i been w/ ya on the Fed train for a while. While he IS aging, he still has some skill in him and will continue to be exciting to watch into 2009. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes #1 back.

Big whoop. How many of you guys picked the two finalists on the ladies side at the start of the tourney?

Haha, yeah this is probably the only thing I've gotten right in about 6 months.

I don't think that many people discounted Fed from getting to the final. Djokovic was going to be the guy he had to beat after getting a nice draw. I honestly thought Djokovic was gonna lose before the semis. Anywho. Nice to see a good guy like Fed win.

eagle you know you're my bro in arms, but this is incorrect. i was one of the only guys in here defending fed when he lost to simon and then to karlovic at the rogers masters events in august, even when he lost to blakey, i was defending him

he has been buried and left for dead by most tennis posters in here, believe me, i have been yelling from the rooftops that he has something left

before the draws were announced, most ppl here were not giving fed a shot to even make the semis, they said "he's done", "he's washed up", "give it up, hoopster"

etc, etc

i'm the one laughing right now, ALL OF THEM WERE WRONG, and I WAS RIGHT

Well I do agree that several people on SBR have cooked him before. Heading into the Open though, I guess maybe the haters weren't out in force yet because I don't remember many saying anything about Fed - good or bad. Most were riding Nadal & Del Potro's jocks based on their recent streaks.

Thanks for the Big Whoop by the way pimike. It means alot! I just have to bask in my one attention whore moment for the year because I am still super shocked that I picked something right for once.

First of all everyone didn't doubt Federer, most don't care about tennis. I was the only one to say he was washed up all year. He is 0-11 in major tournaments.

Secondly u picked Federer to win every tournament which means u are 2-40 on predictions.

Thirdly settle down loopey he hasn't won anything yet.

federer lost in the semis at aussie, finals at french (who doesn't lose to nadal at RG), wimbledon epic final in what most call the best tennis match ever, and is now in the finals at us open

1 semi and 3 finals in the grand slams

I defenitely think federer is in good condition but I think Rafa Nadal or Murray would beat him in the Finals...Powerful can overplay Federer's Finese type of play.
