No side for me, well, sort of. Last year I made a big play Rodgers at +150 to win the MVP and hedged with Steelers ML. This year I have to believe Manning at +225 to win MVP is solid value and will look for some other props to play. Having a hard time imagining the Giants winning and someone else getting the MVP, maybe one of the receivers goes off, but I expect it to be more balanced.

Agree with many posters here, the Super Bowl is as coin-flip of a game as it gets, especially this season's. Would not be surprised if either team wins by double digits, or if it's a game that comes down to a fg. Best thing to do is to bet small on a side / total / prop just so you're cheering for something (unless the Pats or Giants are your team) and go to a super bowl party, relax and enjoy. Not worth stressing over a game which should just be enjoyed as a football fan!

It's too unpredictable & very possible one team chokes and the other cruises to a win by 7+. I might have a small bet on the Pats - small meaning $20. Yeah, it's laughable but it's just for the action/bragging rights at the office. No way am I risking serious money on it.

Betting aside, Superbowl Sunday is one of my favourite sporting events of the year & I like to kick back & enjoy the circus instead of stressing out over each play.

I'll make a small bet just for action but I see no justification for betting big. No real value either way on the side IMO.

yea really, u just beat me to this. like they all meet up and decide over a bottle of bollinger to "lay a trap".

they just set a line that gives them the most money depending on their business model

                lots of juicy props tho.

You're interpreting what he said how you want it.

You're telling me the books will NEVER take a position? You're also going to tell me that books aren't better cappers than the average handicapper?

What he said is what I thought with a bunch of friends. Why would the books open at +3.5 juiced on a game like this when they could of easily have opened at +3 and even have juiced that if they so felt inclined to do so. Why move off a key number of 3 to 3.5 at opening before enough money even came in?

I've been considering just betting a few select props too LB. Do you think Manningham over 3.5 receptions at +150 is a good bet?

Of course I'm sitting on a side. When the line is (was) +3.5 on a pick-em game how can I resist?

The side is the best play

Pats have no business in this game vs the Giants

I set up two open teasers. Both first legs won. Then I played NE +3 and NYG +9 with ties winning in the 2nd legs. A nice window, and if the game is too one-sided I can get out with live betting.

Welker doesn't return punts for the Pats. Good attempt at trying to be funny, better luck next time though.
