Im not one of these guys who hate the rest of the teams in the conference , I follow and really enjoy watching these other teams and pull for them when they are not playing Louisville.

Yeah, it's a shame it always comes to money. WVU fan here- Do not blame them for going to Big 12, after Pitt and Syracuse bolted for the ACC. Big East football has really tailed off, and they had to protect their brand. Sorry to leave Big East BBall though.

I hate that West Virginia is leaving, but Pitt and Syracuse started it. If they don't leave, WVU wouldn't be going anywhere. But the basketball mafia and Meatball Marinaro tried to exert their power, and now, this is what happens.

West Virginia is leaving after this tournament despite what anyone tries to sue. It may cost them $30 milion in damages, but they have to go to a conference where the second place team goes to the Cotton Bowl, or a BCS game -- not the Continental Tire Bowl, and that spot is open now. Plus, with the automatic bids going away, a Big East team will be treated like Boise State - win em all, or get nothing. So now, the Big East champ will go to the Tire Bowl. You really want to stick around for that?

Fear not Louisville Kid, I have heard through the grapevine that your Big 12 invitation is already in the mail, as soon as the WVU mess is sorted out. We will get to play for many years to come. Unfortunately, the Big East tourament will never be the same after this year.

I think it sucks too, especially in hoops. Wvu/Louisville and Wvu/Pitt (more than anything) is like Yankees/Sox around here.

They will change the format again, I'm sure, before any real rivalrys can be built again. It's over boys. Just like our fathers and their fathers before them....we will be talking about "the good ol' days.".
